I took this photo from a boat travelling the waterways near Cortez, FL. Cortez is one of my favorite destinations whenever I need a trip back to the "Old Florida". There are some good restaurants, beaches and lots of photo opportunities. This Little Blue Heron sat quietly in the mangroves even though we got within 20 feet of his perch. I guess he's used to the small boat traffic in the area.
I didn't hang around to find out but I think this gator may have wanted a piece of me. I was walking along the bank of a creek lookin...
