Cumberland Island Horses
This photo represents another departure from Florida although we never actually set foot in Georgia. My wife and I spent a great couple of days in Fernandina Beach and as part of this vacation we took the sunset cruise with the Amelia River Cruises (http://www.ameliarivercruises.com/dailytours.html). The cruise was scheduled for an hour but we stayed out an extra 30 minutes to allow for seeing the sunset from the water. The captain/owner and his wife/first mate maintained a steady stream of information without overpowering the tour. He also kept the cruise at a leisurely pace and stopped numerous times to allow for viewing dolphins, horses and other wildlife. The horses in the photo were taken with a long lens from a rocking boat so the sharpness isn't all it might be. Personally I like the almost painterly quality of the image. The horses were magnificent, even from a distance. One more plug for Fernandina Beach, breakfast at Bright Mornings (http://brightmorningscafe.com/) was exceptional. The pecan pancakes with a side order of the best grits ever were a perfect start to the day.

This egret appears to be getting serious about fishing. Taken on the commercial docks in Cortez, FL.
