Spiderwort

The spiderwort is an often overlooked wildflower usually found in somewhat wet ground.  We have planted some in our front garden and it is taking over.  The nice thing is that it replicates so quickly that you can just pull it from spots you don't want it without the need to transplant, in other words it goes to the compost bin.  The bees love the plant and that makes spiderwort a good addition in areas where you need pollination.  I think blue is a highly underused color in the garden which is why this plant and plumbago are featured prominently in our garden.  Keep an eye out for it as you drive along Florida highways, at the moment it seems it's everywhere.
