Turkey Vulture

In keeping with the theme established by my earlier post here is a Turkey Vulture.  They obviously want to look their best as she was preening for quite a while.  Only God knows what she was finding in those feathers considering what they eat.  They do a great service to all of us by keeping the roadkill under some degree of control.

Black Vulture

I can't say if this is his good side.  I took this shot at Trout Lake Nature Center in Eustis Fl.  There are almost always a couple of dozen vultures (Black and Turkey) hanging around the covered dock area and roosting in nearby trees along the water's edge.  This was an overcast day and overexposing for the deep blacks totally blew out the background.
