Purple Gallinule
These birds are normally very shy but when there are a number of people feeding them daily they quickly overcome that fear. At The Venetian Gardens in Leesburg, FL, many will eat out of your hands. The toughest part of photographing them is that they get too close. I took this shot but generally I prefer the chase and the difficulty involved in stalking a "wild" gallinule. Interestingly enough the green herons are also present at this site but maintain their normal behavior.
