St Marks Light
St Marks is one of my top five places in Florida. The combination of the lighthouse, the coastal marsh, and the profusion of wildlife makes it hard to beat at any time of the year. I decided to try my hand at a black and white conversion from a digital image. I like the image because it reminds me of being there but I do wish there there were some storm clouds in the sky. I started cutting and pasting a stormy sky from another image but that somehow seems like cheating. If I were going to start producing a lot of black and white photos I'd go back to film and I really don't want to do that. As long as Clyde Butcher is photographing the Everglades and Florida coastal images I'll be very content to look at his.
