White Pelicans
In a recent post I admitted to taking close head shots of a wild bird that had become so accustomed to people that you could get well within the normal safety circle that all animals have. These white pelicans are in the same category. I shot this image at Homossasa State Park, these particular birds were not confined but appeared very comfortable with their surroundings. Birds eye coloration is something I notice and try and capture in my images. These baby blues are extraordinary in my opinion. The white pelican is much larger than our native brown pelican although the two coexist quite well. Homassasa Springs is a great place to take children to, it's like a zoo in a way but is more of a natural setting.
